We Prioritise Community Over Competition
We know coaching can be isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. We create spaces for support, collaboration, shared learning and collective care.
Coaching can be lonely. Many of us work one-to-one, behind screens, without colleagues or peers to check in with but we don’t have to be isolated.
When we choose community over competition, we recognise that other coaches are not our rivals but our allies. We can learn from one another, share resources and celebrate each other’s success.
This doesn’t mean ignoring our own ambitions. It means holding them alongside the connection. It means believing that there is enough work, enough clients and enough space for us all. And we don’t have to follow the competitive, business as usual style.
Supervision often models this beautifully as it’s a place of safety, collaboration and shared reflection. Professional development doesn’t have to be solitary.
In practice, this principle might mean joining a peer group, mentoring a new coach, sharing the offers of your peers, or reaching out when we need support. It could mean co-creating an event or simply sharing knowledge freely.
Community strengthens us. When we belong, we grow.
Reflect: Who could you connect with more deeply this month?
